This month marks a special milestone for us at Sems Photography – we’re officially one year old, writes business owner, Serena Nicholls. Well, we’ve been in business a lot longer than that – about 25 years – but it’s only a year since we opened our own shop.
What started as a dream in Ferryhill has grown into a thriving little business capturing moments for families, couples, and businesses across the North East.
From tiny newborn toes to “I do’s,” muddy wellies to polished portraits, we’ve had the privilege of photographing it all, and we wouldn’t change a single second (or even that time we balanced on a wobbly chair to get the perfect shot!).
Over the past year, we’ve learned that running a photography business isn’t just about clicking a button – it’s about trust, patience, laughter, and sometimes bribing toddlers with snacks!
It’s about helping nervous brides feel calm, making dads crack a smile, and capturing pets who really don’t want to sit still.
Most importantly, it’s about freezing those precious, once-in-a-lifetime moments that become memories forever.
We couldn’t have made it through this first year without the support of our amazing clients, our friends, and the community here in Ferryhill and beyond.
Every like, share, booking, and kind word has helped us grow more than we ever imagined.
As we step into our second year, we’re more excited than ever to keep telling your stories through our lens.
We’ve got fresh ideas, new backdrops, and plenty more biscuits stocked up in the shop (because let’s face it – tea and biscuits fuel everything).
We are currently taking bookings for Halloween with extra special effect makeup available and then of course the Christmas season is full steam ahead. So don’t forget get those bookings in while you can!
