As part of I Am Team GB, Hackworth parkrun encourage people to join their free 5km run on Saturday 27th August from 9am to 10am.
A spokesperson said: “We are open to runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities.
“If you don’t fancy running, you can always volunteer!”
Ten volunteers are needed on the day for marshalling, timing and recording results.

There is also the option to print a barcode which will enable runners to have their time recorded.
A spokesperson said: “Don’t forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode.
“If you forget it, you won’t get a time.”
