Old Shildon Homing Society’s racing season is back underway with the first race having taken place on Saturday 9th April, when the birds were released in Wakefield, for a 67-mile sprint back home.
The first two birds to return both belonged to Smith, Alderson & Spark.
Third home was JB Younghusband with Smith, Alderson & Spark also taking the remaining three places.
The second race of the season, on Sunday 17th April, saw the birds released at Thoresby Hall, 100 miles from home, and it was Smith, Alderson & Spark who were again first back to Shildon.
In second place were Gray Bros, the third bird home belonged to W Stott & Son, fourth was Gray Bros, fifth was MM Peacock and T & J Brown while JB Younghusband came home in sixth position.
