Green spaces in Shildon are being transformed thanks to a £2,000 grant awarded to Shildon Town Council through the Livin Community Regeneration Grant Programme.
The funding is supporting improvements to the green spaces on the Town Council’s football field at Jubilee, helping to create a more attractive and welcoming outdoor area for local residents.
New mounds have been installed in April, and wildflowers have already been sown with the support of Jubilee Fields Community Centre. Further tree planting is planned for November which will help with biodiversity and drainage.
Thank you to the Play group at Jubilee Fields who supported us sowing the Wildflowers this week. The parents and toddlers had a great time getting messy at the field planting the wildflowers.
Malcolm Gray, Community Investment Manager for Livin, ‘’We are pleased to provide a grant towards this important project which will not only help protect and improve the playing fields but will support biodiversity within our communities’’.
