Monthly Market returns

The busy Monthly Market returns on Saturday 2 September.

After the leisure centre renovation, Spennymoor Monthly Market returns to the venue on Saturday 2 September from 10am to 2pm, then on 7 October and 4 November at the same times.

The market has a bouncy castle, soft play and a colouring table to occupy children while parents peruse the stalls. Most stall holders have been trading at the venue every month for over a year and are very excited to be back in September.

“We’d love to see people and have the kids enjoy a free play session on the bouncy castle before school returns as we know the summer holidays can be expensive. We host over 15 stalls each month,” said Paula Rouse, “who are all small local businesses, 90 per cent of which are selling handmade items.

“The 4 November market will be Christmas themed for people to pop down, grab gifts, and get ideas for personalised items and decorations. We will be doing Christmas-based stories over the four hours with our Christmas elf, while the children enjoy a drink of hot chocolate. This will cost £1 and all funds will be donated to the foodbank at Trinity Church on Rosa street who will have the charity tombola stall at this event.

“More info will be released about booking for the children’s stories closer to the time.”
