Bright Futures Ferryhill CIC is the latest local community group to receive a grant from Ferryhill Town Council’s Members Initiative Fund.
The newly formed community interest company, which provides opportunities and experiences to children in Ferryhill who would not usually be able to access them due to barriers such as financial difficulties, transport, support and more.
Founding director, Hannah Wilkinson, recently attended a presentation at the Town Hall, where Cllr David Farry presented a cheque for £900 on behalf of himself and Cllr Sue Jones, who each donated £450 from their MIF allocations.
The funds will be spent on equipment, activities and running costs associated with the weekly Young-Uns Youth Club at Ferryhill Sport and Education Centre.

Cllrs Farry and Jones said: “We are delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile organisation.
“Bright Futures Ferryhill have introduced a fantastic facility for young people.
“We hope that this funding goes some way to help them grow from strength to strength, building on Hannah and her family’s great work with New Dance Generation, who were one of the first ever groups to rent a space in the newly established Ferryhill Community Hub.
