Mayor of Shildon, Cllr Trish Pemberton, is encouraging anyone who hasn’t already made Valentine’s plans to go along and spend a fun evening at her Civic Ball.

The event is taking place on Saturday 18th February at Shildon Civic Hall in aid of the NSPCC.

There will be a welcome drink, a 5-course meal with wine as well as entertainment from swing singer Christopher Dakers, magic from Joseph the Magician and cabaret from Hollywood.

The dress code is smart – lounge suit or black tie. The evening starts at 7pm with the meal served at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £25 and can be obtained from the Town Council on 01388 772563 or the mayor directly on 01388 833229.

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) is a charity campaigning and working in child protection in the United Kingdom. At its core is the belief that children must be protected from all forms of violence and exploitation.

Cllr Pemberton said: “As the NSPCC say, every childhood is worth fighting for – so please come along and help.”
