Are we to believe that we are proud to have conducted the biggest ever Rail Shunt? Could we not have designed a rail system that could be used to move vehicles from the main Shilldon main line to the new hall. Or exchange vehicles around without having to resort to cranes and specialised road vehicles.
We built a rail tunnel under the English Channel, a line up Mount Snowdon. A bridge in China and Even the Bridge over the river Kwai in adverse conditions. There are also such things as Traversers, Capstains and Turntables. The present system lends nothing to further vehicles being moved, only to never ending costs.
I suggest we get the architect’s back with their bulging back pockets to redraw and build a more fit for purpose building. And give the chance for others to comment on. The nearly windowless shed burning electricity all day. The attendant having to sit on a high stool, with no reception area. The toilets having limited access. And being unable to walk down both sides of vehicles. Etc;Etc;
