Jazz review – Paul Skerritt, Dean Stockdale, Mick Shoulder and John Bradford, Bishop Auckland Jazz

A sunny day in Bishop Auckland welcomed a lovely lunchtime jazz session from Bishop Auckland Jazz.

The guest artist was popular singer Paul Skerritt more than ably supported by pianist Dean Stockdale, bassist Mick Shoulder and John Bradford on drums. They treated us to a range of jazz classics from The Great American Songbook in a delightful programme of familiar tunes from Misty, Let There Be Love to It’s Only A Paper Moon.

It was an entertaining hour with lots of engagement from the audience and a great sense of fun shared by the musicians.

Next month’s guest artist is the jazz guitarist Joe Steels who will perform tunes made famous by the great Wes Montgomery. That will be on Friday 10 April 1pm at Bishop Auckland Methodist Church and stay tuned for a visit later in April (date to be confirmed) by the French violinist Daniel John Martin.

Let’s make Bishop Auckland great again!
