Ferryhill Indoor Bowls Club now have a new committee and changing room thanks to a generous grant from County Durham Community Foundation.

More than £4,000 was secured to convert a storeroom by installing a suspended ceiling, new LED lights and a new carpet. Most of the work was undertaken by local electrician Andy Heaviside, who also converted the lounge lighting to LED, giving the club a much brighter appearance.

A spokesperson for the club said: “The members are very grateful for the grant, which has given them a much needed improvement to their premises.”
