A group of Timothy Hackworth pupils won the privilege to work with the residents of Redworth House Care Home on Tuesday 24th May, to plant and tidy the home’s gardens.

The pupils, who were selected from Years 1 to 6, had talked about plants and gardening previously during their lessons.

The pupils chose a number of sensory plants from bamboos through to sweet peas, which they then planted strategically around the gardens.

The plants for the gardening were provided by Shildon Alive, a St John’s Church Community Project, and Shildon Town Council.
