Exhibition of art at Locomotion

0

An exhibition of art by Newton Aycliffe based painter Stephen Bainbridge will be on show at Locomotion: The National Railway Museum from Tuesday 7th to Thursday 30th June.

Stephen has worked with acrylic for 40 years, initially developing techniques under the tutelage of the professional artist Noel Gregory.

His pictures often reflect his lifelong passion for the days of steam railways, and feature locomotives of the LNER (London and North Eastern Railway).

He has also produced works of other technical subjects and landscapes.

Stephen’s paintings have also featured in magazines and have been used in historical text books.

In his works, he always aims to produce paintings that are detailed and technically accurate, while portraying the atmosphere of the days of steam.

The exhibition of Stephen’s work will be on display in the museum’s Collection Building.

The museum is open daily from 10am to 5pm, and parking and admission are free of charge. For more information, call 01388 777999.
