Due to popular demand, a second Bishop Auckland College free Music and Arts Festival will take place over two days this summer.
The event will run on Friday, June 26th and Saturday, June 27th on the field adjacent to the new College campus on Woodhouse Lane.
Last year, the one day event, sponsored by Bishop Auckland Town Council, was held as part of the College’s 50th birthday celebration and proved a great success with young and old.
This year’s event is again being sponsored by Bishop Auckland Town Council and is also being supported by funding from Durham County Council.
An exciting line-up of home-grown talent, including student and school bands combined with original pop, indie, rock, hip-hop, tribute and established bands is being planned. On both days a beer tent, craft and food stalls and fairground attractions will be available in the festival field.
Town Mayor, Alan Anderson said, “Bishop Auckland Town Council is happy to sponsor the Music Festival as it will greatly raise the profile of the town.”
Chair of the Town Council, Barbara Laurie, said, “This is a great opportunity to showcase the wealth of musical talent we have in our town – as well as providing enjoyable and entertaining family days out”.
