Ferryhill Town Council will be raising the Armed Forces Day Flag at 11.00am on Friday, 26 June in the Town Hall Garden. Mayor, Councillor Curtis Bihari will lead the ceremony, which will see Ex N.C.O. Andy Denholm, 15th/19th The Kings Royal Hussars raise the flag. Residents wanting to observe the proceedings should meet in the Town Hall garden at 10.50am.
The Town Council will also be hosting an Armed Forces Day Party in the Park Family Event at Dean Bank Recreation Park, from 12 noon on Sunday, 28 June to mark the occasion. The event which is being organised in association with AH Events Ltd. will be FREE to attend and will include live performances from a variety of stage acts as follows:

The event will include a range of attractions for the whole family to enjoy, including Crazy Golf and a variety of inflatables such as a Large Assault Course, Wipeout, and a Large Slide. The event will also feature face painters, a craft area with badge and flag making workshops, garden games, a tots’ area, and a range of stalls.
Refreshments will be available throughout the event with catering vehicles and a fully licensed bar supplied by The Ivorson Public House in Ferryhill, who will be serving a variety of alcohol (see The Ivorson Poster for details). Challenge 25 will apply! Card Payments Only will be accepted at the Bar! There will be a 10% discount available for Veterans and Serving members of the Armed Forces. A Veterans Card or Military ID Card will need to be shown to receive the discount. Visitors will be able to relax and enjoy the entertainment from deck chairs positioned in front of the stage, picnic tables located across the event site, or by bringing their own picnic blankets.

Parking at the event will be restricted to Blue Badge Holders only and security arrangements for the event will be heightened. Marshalls reserve the right to search all bags. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times and only alcohol purchased at the venue can be consumed on site.
