On Saturday, 24 June, Ferryhill Station Royal British Legion Branch were offered the use of Ferryhill Sports and Social Club concert hall for an Armed Forces Day concert. This allowed the branch to say thank you to service personnel and to raise funds for the Royal British Legion who are there to support local veterans.
Last year, 15 veterans in the DL17 area were helped with varying support totalling £19,617.76
Any veteran requiring support can ring the Helpline number 0808 802 8080. Lines are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days per week.
The evening was a great success with singers Jenn Cherene and Andy Max providing the entertainment. A total of £410 was raised on the night.
A spokesperson for Ferryhill RBL said: “A big thank you to the club staff, singers and all who attended and contributed in any way.”
