An event is being held at Old Shildon Club next month, in order to pay for a headstone for the grave of a 14 year-old girl who tragically passed away last year.

Lucy Smith was found dead at her home in Bishop Auckland on Saturday 29th November.

A friend of the family is now hoping to raise enough money to pay for a fitting headstone for the King James I School pupil.

‘A Celebration of the life of Miss Lucy Smith’ will take place on Thursday 2nd April from 7pm, starring two of clubland’s top acts; Miss Samantha Mac and Drew Gerrard.

Tickets cost £5 and are available on the door.
