The council is set to host a major gathering of local businesses and strategic partners at the Darlington business summit 2026.
The event which will be held on 13 May at Hopetown, Darlington’s railway theme visitor attraction, is aimed at encouraging collaboration, supporting local businesses and informing the town’s plans for economic growth and development.
The summit will bring together businesses from all sectors and of all sizes, education and skills partners, support organisations and wider stakeholders, to share the latest business support opportunities and explore ways to accelerate growth and investment across our town and borough.
Held as part of ongoing work to boost Darlington’s economic potential, the event will provide an opportunity for open discussion, idea sharing and partnership interaction, ensuring local businesses have the tools and connections needed to thrive.
Cabinet member for economy Chris McEwan said: “Darlington’s business community is ambitious, resilient and thriving – there’s already much to celebrate.
“The forthcoming business summit offers another excellent opportunity for local employers, partners and stakeholders to come together to share insights and shape mutual aspirations for the town’s economic future.
“Continuing to work together is vital for identifying new opportunities in skills, investment and growth across Darlington.”
