The now defunct Wear Valley Council officially honoured loyal employees recently, for years of work in their community. The 20 workers, 3 of whom had worked for the council for over 30 years, were presented with gifts.

Chief Executive, Bob Hope, commented, “The number of people we have honoured here demonstrates what a happy place this has been to work and the family atmosphere we have shared”.

The council is now nonexistent, following the formation of the Unitary Council for the area.
