Sedgefield Water Polo Club would like to congratulate their goalkeeper Aston, 14, who was selected to attend the England U16 Talent Festival, held at the Wavertree Aquatics Centre, Liverpool earlier in the year.
The festival is a new initiative by Swim England, celebrating the end of term at their five Talent Centres and allowing 116 athletes from across the country to play competitive water polo at a high level.
Aston joined the club over lockdown and now trains regularly at the England Talent Centre based in Bolton with a long term view of being selected for the Great Britain U18’s squad in 2027.
In addition to Junior and Senior sessions, Sedgefield Water Polo Club now offers a beginner session at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre on a Saturday afternoon for those wishing to try this fun and exciting team sport.
