Once again Chilton Community Sports and Social Club held its annual Macmillan Coffee Morning on Saturday 11 October, writes a spokesperson for the club.
There was support from the community fund (Kimberley and Anna) who provided a singer for the afternoon, they were also on hand to serve the tea and coffee – not forgetting cake, scones and biscuits.
People were so kind donating loads of raffle prizes. We held a game of bingo and super 5, along with guess the weight of the cake and how much money was in the jar.
A very brave Steve Fothergill took a big step and had his Mohican and beard shaved off, something he very much treasured, raising over £500 alone.
It was a joint venture which could not have taken place without the help of the volunteers who are in the picture – A massive thank you to you all.
All in all it was a great morning/afternoon, which will no doubt be replicated next year, as everyone had a great time.
The sum raised was over £1,200, which will go a long way to providing care for someone suffering with the horrible disease of cancer.
