Chilton Town Council’s Hutton House has been transformed into a breath-taking sea of red, covered in hundreds of handmade poppies to mark this year’s Remembrance period.
Crafted with love and meticulous care, the stunning display is the result of countless hours of knitting and crocheting by the local women’s craft group, alongside dedicated friends and community supporters.
This year, the installation features a poignant new addition: custom-crafted wreaths meticulously designed to represent and honour all branches of the Armed Forces.
As always, this visual tribute runs alongside real-world support, official donation boxes for the Royal British Legion (RBL) Poppy Appeal will be placed at central hubs throughout the town, ensuring everyone can participate.
Residents looking to contribute will find collection points readily accessible inside Hutton House.
While the town’s collection boxes support the broader Poppy Appeal, any donations collected during the post-service refreshments will explicitly benefit one of the town Mayor’s chosen charities – Combat Stress.
All money raised from the refreshments will go directly toward this essential cause, aiding the charity in its mission to provide free, life-changing therapeutic and clinical mental health treatment to veterans across the UK.
