Chilton fireworks display is a sell-out

Chilton Town Council has organised a fireworks display for Friday 3rd November at the Charlie Wayman Playing Fields (opposite West Chilton Terrace), and all tickets for the event have now been sold.

For safety reasons, a limit on attendance was set at a maximum of 1,000 spectators, with tickets being issued to Chilton residents on a first-come first-served basis.

For those lucky enough to get their hands on tickets, fun fair rides and catering will be available from 6.15pm with the fireworks display at 7.45pm.

There will not be a bonfire and spectators are prohibited from bringing along sparklers and fireworks.

It is recommended that children are accompanied and residents are asked to walk to the event to alleviate any parking and traffic problems. A road closure will be enforced.

The free event has been made possible due to donations from Chilton Residents Association and County Councillor Christine Potts. The Town Council have enlisted a specialist company to carry out the fireworks display.

A spokesperson for the Town Council said: “We really hope that the event runs smoothly and is a huge success as this will determine, along with funding, if a fireworks display could be added to the Town’s social calendar in the future.”
