Chilton and Windlestone – Do you know who this is?

DDN Club sports 8th May 1953. Front row 5th and 6th: Colin and Alan Ball who lived in 24 Coleridge Rd.

Thanks to the support of a number of residents, the 150 years of Chilton and Windlestone working group have managed to scan over a thousand photos of the town and people across the time span. However, they have quite a lot of photos in which they don’t know who some of the people are and would like to see if anyone out there does.

On Sunday 24 April the club will be in the Chilton Sports and Social Club between 2-4pm and will be showing up to 100 photos and seeking residents views on who might be on them. The club would love people to drop in and work with the volunteers to see who they can recognise.

They are also asking for people to bring their own photos of Chilton along so they can add to the ones they already have (they will scan these and pass them straight back to their owners on the day). The club are very keen to get more recent photos of the town and its people from the last 50 years. The 150 years of Chilton and Windlestone working group are also helping Chilton Town Council prepare for the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations and the photos you bring along will help build up a collection of photos of how the town has progressed during the Queens reign.
