Spennymoor Boxing Club held its annual boxing presentation last month at Spennymoor workmen’s club.
Head coach, Robert Ellis said: “I would like to thank all who attended, from boxers, to supporters and sponsors and councillors Billy McAloon and Liz and Clive Maddison.
“Ellis Dixon won three awards including Best Boxer of the Season, demonstrating that you only get out what you put in.
“It was a great afternoon and showcased the hard work and dedication of the previous season and what’s to come in 2025 with lots of great prospects.
“The new season just opened this week and for any new starters, information is available on our Facebook page.”
Meanwhile, Dr Hasan Basri from Bishops Close Medical Practice has recently become the clubs’ registered doctor.
The process is lengthy and has involved training and patience from Dr Basri to enable him to complete medicals for boxers and be the representing doctor in attendance at ringside at future shows, where up to 15 boxers compete.
Head coach, Robert Ellis expressed his gratitude to Dr Basri for taking the time to support the club.
