Last weekend, Blade Taekwondo GBR travelled from Bishop Middleham Village Hall to the Scottish Open Poomsae Championships in Motherwell, a Gold Standard event for British Taekwondo.
Corey Wilson competed in both Individual and Pairs Divisions, and managed to take Gold in Pairs with another club’s student, and a 3rd Place Bronze in individual performance out of eight players in that category.
Aiden also managed to improve his overall score since his last competition, however due to the high numbers of players and skill levels, he missed out on a medal this time, but still enjoyed the event and secured some good points for Blade Taekwondo in the overall competition.
Corey, Head Coach for Blade, also had the pleasure of coaching a student from another club in Woodham, who often trains at Blade. Calum did a great job in a very tough division, and also improved on power and accuracy, giving him a great overall score.
“It was another great event and more success for our club,” said Corey. “ We have come a long way in just a small amount of time. We are now training hard to compete at the biggest stage of the year, the National Open Poomsae Championships for British Taekwondo in October.”
