Bishop Auckland Town Council is encouraging residents and businesses to decorate their premises with floral displays and enter the Bishop Auckland In Bloom competition, where the overall winner can win a £50 Homebase Voucher and £100!

Everyone can get involved, whether they are seasoned gardeners or budding bloomers. Categories this year range from Business Premises, Licensed Premises, Front Garden, Back Garden, Yard and Allotment Garden with a 1st prize of £50, 2nd prize £30 and 3rd prize £30.

Each year the judging is made difficult by the high standard of entrants and judging is scheduled to take place in August by RHS Gold Medal winner Gary Hillery, with winners being officially announced during an evening ceremony at the Town Hall on Wednesday, 3rd September at 7.30pm.

Bishop Auckland Town Council would like to say a big thank you to Deco Trophies and Engraving Ltd and Homebase Bishop Auckland for sponsoring this event. “Their support and contribution is much appreciated,” said a spokesperson.

Entry is free, and to take part in this year’s competition, simply complete the entry form available on the Town Council’s website or from The Four Clocks centre and submit it to Bishop Auckland Town Council by no later than Monday, 7th July.
