Bishop Auckland Music Society 2026 concert series continues in May with solo pianist Sherri Lun.
Sherri will perform on Friday 22 May, 7.30pm at Bishop Auckland Methodist Church
Born in 2003, in Hong Kong and currently based in London, Sherri Lun has swiftly established herself as a rising soloist on the international stage. She has performed extensively across Europe, Asia, and the United States.
Sherri was named a 2025 Royal Over-Seas League award winner and received the Special Prize from the Mozart Society Munich at the 74th ARD International Music Competition. In 2024 she captured both First and Audience Prizes at the Birmingham International Piano Competition.
A 2025/26 Kirckman Artist, Sherri is also supported by the Keyboard Charitable Trust, Lang Lang International Music Foundation, and KNS Classical, with whom she released her first CD album in 2023. At the Royal Academy, she won consecutively the Sterndale Bennett (2022), Chung Nung Lee (2023), and Harold Craxton (2024) Prizes
Sherri majored in piano and viola as a junior student of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She continued her studies with Prof. Christopher Elton at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree with first class honours, supported by the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree.
