Following his successful talk to Bishop Auckland Civic Society, speaker Greg McCormick requested that his fee be donated to a local food bank.
Debbie Richardson from Woodhouse Close Food Bank attended the meeting and gratefully accepted the cheque on behalf of the foodbank.
Based at Woodhouse Close Church and Community Centre, the Foodbank and Crisis Intervention Team is open Monday to Thursday 9am-4:30pm and 9am-12.30pm on Fridays (01388 450838), and donations are always needed.
The next meeting of the Civic Society will take place at 7.30pm on Monday 23 March when local historian, Tom Hutchinson, will address the Society on ‘The Fighting Bradfords’.
Free to members.
