Astrid Academy of Movement’s Performance Team were asked to showcase their routines at the Team Gym British Gymnastics Championships last month, at Northumbria University, Newcastle.
They took 2 routines with them “Walk” and “Trapped” which are their current shows for 2026.
“To be asked to perform at such a big event by British Gymnastics, felt like an honour! We are super proud that our small local club based in Kirk Merrington Primary School, is being seen for such incredible events.”
The girls were asked to perform both routines twice over the course of 2 days which they felt so grateful for. They performed impeccably. The gymnasts that were competing in the competition gave positive feedback;
“Wow! Your routines are like watching a show!”
“These are one of the best half time performances we have had at Team Gym Championships!”
“The costumes and choreography are incredible!”.
The girls had such a lovely weekend and receiving such lovely comments from other clubs made their day.
“We are so proud of their continued talent and achievements within the team. Keep up the good work girls!”
