Artwork to aid Help for Heroes charity

0

Thread-painting artist, Sandra Mark, has created a limited edition Remembrance Day artwork, with donations from every print going to Help for Heroes.

Sandra was inspired by the Woodhorn Colliery Museum`s display of the Weeping Window of Poppies that is currently on its UK tour after being on show at the Tower of London last year.

Sandra spent weeks creating the artwork which is made by stitching coloured silk threads onto silk.

Sandra, who has previously designed and made clothes for celebrities such as Sir Elton John and Queen said: “We keep saying those words ‘We will never forget’ and it’s true, which is why I wanted to do something for the armed forces charity.”

Each Fine Art Giclée Print costs £39 and will be signed, mounted and numbered.

They will be available from The Painting with Thread Gallery, 46 Fore Bondgate, Bishop Auckland. 07515 853 686.

Any readers who would like to offer a title for the piece have the opportunity to do so by Saturday 14th November.

The winner will be announced on Monday 16th November and presented with a signed print for free.

Title suggestions can be sent to sandmark2009@yahoo.com or dropped into the gallery.
