Ferryhill’s Ambassadors for Community Change were thanked for all their hard work with a full day of adventure and crafts courtesy of Bishop Auckland, Ferryhill and Spennymoor Nostalgic History Society.
This year the Ambassadors have worked with livin and Durham Police and Crime Commissioner, Joy Allen, to raising awareness about the dangers of off-road bikes.
They have also worked with DCC Green and Clean Team and the Neighbourhood Warden to encourage people to tidy up Ferryhill and make back streets safe and clean and rolled up their selves to take part in numerous community litter picks.
Glenys from Approach Too said: “A special big thank you to Christopher Jameson who funded the entrance fees and the coach to get them there and safely back home at a cost of £763, financed by the Societies Heritage Trust Fund. It wouldn’t have happened without you.”
The Fund was set up approximately twelve months ago to: promote the history of the Auckland area; finance school outings; promote the Fund’s involvement in restoration projects and to enhance its reputation globally.
This was the first event that the Societies Heritage Trust has funded, and the Ambassadors are looking forward to potentially participating in more events in 2026.
