The dance school formerly known as Dianne White Academy of Dance has changed its name to D&H Dance Studio. Established in 1995 and based in Cross Street, Shildon, the school continues to be run by Dianne, but now in partnership with her niece, Helen.
Specialising in Ballroom, Latin, Classical and Sequence, it truly has a family feel – some adult pupils have been with the school since they were children and now attend with their own children.
The quality of the tuition offered is reflected in the results achieved. Recently, all pupils completed their first ever UKA (United Kingdom Alliance) exam – with a pass rate of 100%.
Early last month, nineteen competitors from D&H Dance Studio (aged from 4 to 55 years) took part in the UK Premier Medallists dance competition in the famous Wintergardens in Blackpool. They brought home and incredible 16 trophies, with nearly all competitors reaching at least semi-final stage.
The studio now have their sights set on a UK local competition to be held in Whitby in March 2024. All pupils, old and new, can work towards competing in the competiton.
Dianne and Helen are looking to expand their current dance family – no matter how young or old. Classes are currently held six days a week with Beginners Class on Monday from 7.15pm.
