The Bishop Auckland British Heart Foundation (BHF) shop marked a milestone recently as it celebrated being voted Volunteer Team of the Year for the North East. The shop, at 124 Newgate Street, sells a fantastic selection of furniture, electricals and homewares at discount prices.
Every item sold supports the BHF to continue funding lifesaving heart research. Store Manager, Adam Peacock said: “It’s an amazing achievement by the store in Bishop Auckland to win the award as Volunteer Team of the Year. The team came together and raised money for the BHF’s vital work.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers and volunteers who really make this store special and help the British Heart Foundation fund its life saving heart research. As we turn to another year, we’d love to see the local community continue to support us by donating any good quality items they might have at home.
“If you would rather give the gift of time and have a couple of hours to spare each week, we are always keen to welcome new volunteers to the team.”
Each year, British Heart Foundation shops raise millions to help the BHF fund life-saving research into all heart diseases, stroke, vascular dementia and diabetes. For more information about BHF shops, visit the branch’s website.
