Shildon Juniors under 15s have started the season in superb fashion after a successful summer, which included lifting the Middleton Rangers Tournament Trophy, the first silverware won by the Shildon Junior section.
The lads played their first home game of the season against a spirited Guisborough Town side who held out for 22 minutes before debutant Mason Quinn prodded home his first goal on his Shildon debut. Mason then added his second on the stroke of half time.
Further goals from Noah McCourt (2) Dylan Rutherford and Jack Mortimer ensured that Shildon ran out 6-0 winners.
This followed up an opening day 8-1 win away at Rossmere Rangers.
With no fewer than nine new signings the competition for places is fierce and great things are expected and hoped for this year.
