The Durham Tigers Under-11 Rugby League team came roaring out of the blocks in their first outing of the 2013 season at the festival at Winlaton.
Up against five other sides from Peterlee, Cramlington, North Yorkshire, Whitley Bay and Winlaton, in a round-robin format, the team showed their passion and team spirit with four wins and a draw to win the festival.
The club’s secretary, Phil Selby said, “This just shows that with some good coaching and some commitment on the players’ part they can succeed, and I think that they will do very well this season if they keep up with their training and work ethic.”
