St Mary’s weekend round-up

St Mary’s Under 7 Aces & Kings were the stars of the weekend worthy of a cup final with a magnificent performance last Saturday from both teams, when they played each other in the semi-finals of the league cup.

The match was a very close game with the Kings taking the lead through Joel Butler. In the second half the Aces equalised through Mason Wright then, looking as if the match may go into extra time, Jay Bulch had a great lob over the Aces’ keeper to make it 2-1 to the Kings at the final whistle.

The match was a great advert for the game with Adam Petty man-of-the-match for the Aces and Tyler Richardson for the Kings.

The Under 8 Aces played away at Leven AFC and also had a great win with goals from Liam Cunningham, Jake Pinkney, Leon Parker and Charlie Berry, with Finley Rose man-of-the-match.

The Under 8 Kings played Leven Athletic at home and again had a very good win, with goals from Cobie Woods and man-of-the-match James Whales.

The Under 9 Kings played in a friendly against Norton & Stockton and had a good win with Scott Jones man-of-the-match.

The Under 10 Aces had a good win over Golden Flats with goals from Ethan Bowman (2) and Finley Stevens, along with keeper James Petty making some great saves and Robbie Wilkinson man-of-the-match.

The Under 11 Aces had an excellent 4-1 win over Saxon Juniors with goals from Cameron Bass, Ryan Byrne and Robbie Vickers with Daniel Pattison man-of-the-match.

The Under 11 Kings came up against a good Marton side and had chances to take the lead, but Marton took their chance to eventually win 4-1 with Sonny Richardson scoring and Piotr Banda man-of-the-match.

The Under 12s lost 4-1 against Wynyard with Regan Nixon scoring, while the Under 13 Aces had a great 2-0 win over Stockton Town with 2 goals from Luke Penberthy.

The Under 13 Kings lost 3-1 away against Spraire Lads with Andrew Burrows scoring and Lewis Poppleton man-of-the-match.

The Under 14s were very unlucky to lose 4-3 against Marton Blues with goals from Callum Thomson (2) and Lucas Hallimond.

The Under 18 Angels had a fantastic 4-2 win over Spraire Lasses with goals from Maddie Atkinson (2), Natalie Waterworth and Frayah Munro, with Lauryn Morgans man-of-the-match.
