After eight weeks of hard work, our Bishop Auckland Hospice redecoration project with Trades4Care has officially been completed and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone involved, writes Butterwick Senior Fundraiser, Helen Shaw.
Charlie Wright, one of Trades4Care’s Directors, has been the heart and soul of this project, going above and beyond every step of the way. From arranging media coverage with BBC Radio Tees, Look North and Bishop Press, to ensuring every promise was delivered (and more!), Charlie’s dedication has been extraordinary.
Incredible project contributions include the students from New College Durham and Daniel from Durham Enable, Wear Valley Decorating Centre, Bridge Creative and Magnet Kitchens.
The changes across several areas within the Hospice have been transformations and will make a huge difference to the comfort of our patients, their families and our staff.
Thanks to Charlie’s connections, our team received valuable one-to-one IT training from Paul at Dolan IT. This generous donation of time and expertise will benefit our healthcare team for years to come.
We couldn’t have done it without the backing of BASH AAP, particularly Cllrs Joanne Howey, Sam Zair and Andrew Jackson, whose funding made this project possible.
To everyone who donated cakes and treats for the hardworking team, thank you for keeping spirits high!
And a special thanks to Janie’s Pantry, Longstaff’s, Gregory’s, Greggs, Tesco and Asda for providing the delicious food for the celebratory lunch.
Lastly, Butterwick Hospice offers it’s thanks to the Lord Lieutenant and all the guests who joined us to celebrate this incredible transformation.
