Fundraisers celebrate ten years

The Bishop Auckland fundraising group of Marie Curie celebrated its tenth anniversary in December.

Since its inception in December 2013, the Bishop Auckland Fundraising Group of Marie Curie has raised over £168,000 – thanks to the generosity of the people of South West Durham.

The Group meets on the first Tuesday of the month in St Mary’s Church on Woodhouse Lane, thanks to the support of Father
Dennis Tindall.

In addition to regular supermarket collections and the annual Daffodil Appeal, the fundraising group organises a variety of events to appeal to all, ranging from garden opening days to celebratory afternoon teas, from concerts to Curry Night quizzes.

All money raised is used to provide ‘end of life care’ in the Bishop Auckland area.

New ideas for fundraising are always welcome, as are new members.
