In a recent cheque presentation held at Mainsforth Sports Complex, Councillor Kath Conroy presented a cheque for £675 on behalf of herself and Councillor Sue Jones from their Members Initiative Fund (MIF) allocations.
The cheque was accepted by Christine Stoddart and Danny Hooper on behalf of Mainsforth Cricket Club.
The funding will be used by the cricket club, who played their first match of the season at the weekend, to replace damaged and worn netting, with brand new cricket nets, that will serve the club for years to come.
Councillor Conroy said Councillor Sue Jones and I are both delighted to be able to support Mainsforth Cricket Club with this project, which will provide brand new nets for the benefit of all cricketers using the facilities at Mainsforth Sports Complex.
“We would also like to take this opportunity to wish the club every success in their new season.’
