Classic Rockabilly Beats is just one of the albums recently created by Shildon artist Mr Raggaman. Here, the artist captures the 1950s Rock and Roll spirit by blending traditional Rockabilly rhythms with modern digital production. The majority of the album’s 20 songs are fast-paced, energetic and capture the essence of the Rockabilly genre.
The high-octane music is a mixture of fun, chaos and danger, with tracks like “Crazy Jolene,” “Son Of A Bitch,” and “I Aint’ To Blame, Honey,” characterizing rebellious or tumultuous relationships. Whilst songs like “Rockaway Rosemary” and “High-Heeled Hurricane” portray a playful, flirtatious side. However, tracks like “Shattered Diamond” and “Alleycat Ambush” touch upon darker, edgier themes.
The album draws on the classic Rockabilly sound and imagery, with references to jukeboxes, switchblades, jailhouse antics, and high-heeled ladies. The inclusion of a saxophone in “Shakin’ The Shack With A Sax” and several other songs gives a nod to the genre’s roots in Blues and Jazz as well.
Overall, this album is a wild ride through the seedy, vibrant world of Rockabilly music. It promises to keep listeners on their toes and dancing along to its infectious beats.
