Top brass bands are once again set to party in the parks of County Durham this summer when Brass, Durham’s liveliest festival, returns for 2019 with ten days of outstanding performances.
This includes the return of the Big Brass Bash to Spennymoor’s Jubilee Park on Friday 19th July, between 6pm and 8pm.
The line-up for the event is yet to be announced, however if previous years are anything to go by the bands will have everyone dancing and grooving along to their fantastic beats.
As well as Spennymoor, other venues include, Glenholme Park in Crook, Town Park in Newton Aycliffe, Hackworth Park in Shildon and Trimdon Community College.
A spokesperson for Durham County Council said: “As well as international street bands from Spain and Germany, we will be using cutting-edge technology to involve performers in Denmark, Norway and beyond in unique live performances with bands here in Durham.
“We also have a choir from Texas joining with our own Festival Chorus for a performance of Verdi’s magnificent Requiem in Durham Cathedral.
“One of our main themes for 2019 is Brass and Health. We are taking music into care homes and hosting a ‘Healthy Brass’ day which will feature talks and workshops on how brass players can maintain good mental and physical health.”
