SUMMARY:Remembrance Parade - Shildon
DESCRIPTION:The annual Shildon Remembrance parades will take place over the Remembrance weekend of Saturday 11 November at New Shildon\, with the main parade on Sunday 12 November along Church Street. \nOn Saturday\, a short service will take place at the War Memorial in Redworth Road\, opposite the Railway Institute. \nPlease assemble at 10.45am for the short parade to the War Memorial followed by the service. \nChurch Street and part of Main Street will be closed to traffic from 10.30am on Sunday. \nThe parade will commence down Church Street at 10.45am to arrive at the War Memorial for a two-minute silence at 11am. \nFollowing consultation and meetings\, the order of parade will be:\nClergy\,\nStandard Bearers\,\nMP\,\nTown Council representative\,\nVeterans\,\nServicemen\,\nCivic Dignitaries including both Shildon Town Council and Durham County Council Councillors\,\nUniformed Services (Police\, Fire Service etc.)\nfollowed by local groups and organisations. \nMembers of the public are invited to assemble outside Shildon Alive on Church Street. \nIt has also been decided to continue with the parade after the Service and there will a march past a Dias towards the Civic Hall where nominated persons will take a salute. \nFree tea and coffee will be available at the Shildon Civic Hall after the Service and Parade. \nWreaths must be collected from the Town Council Offices\, Civic Hall Square\, Shildon by noon on Friday\, 10 November. Cheques should be made payable to Royal British Legion.

DESCRIPTION:Following the service at 10.45am\, you are invited to assemble in front of the Town Hall to march to the War Memorial. \nOrganisations/individuals laying a wreath are requested to contact the Town Council by noon on Thursday 9th November with their details if they want to be called out during the service. \nAny organisation/individual who does not register will have the opportunity to lay their wreath at the end of the service.
