SUMMARY:Organ Recital and Afternoon Tea - St Michael's Church\, Bishop Middleham
DESCRIPTION:There will be a short organ recital at St Michael’s Church\, Bishop Middleham\, on Sunday April 14th at 4pm\, when visiting musician Mark Spalding will be welcomed to play music by Mendelssohn\, Elgar and Nielsen on the church’s historic Harrison & Harrison organ. \nMark is an organist and pianist based in rural Angus in North East Scotland and presently plays the organ at St Columba’s Church of Scotland in Glenrothes. \nLast year he curated a series of events marking the 40th anniversary of the harpsichord in Dundee’s Wighton Heritage Centre. \nLater this year he will be playing programmes of piano music by Philip Glass\, Morris Pert and Stockhausen at the Edinburgh Fringe. \nAdmission is free\, but any donations will go to the local voluntary bereavement listening service\, BALM. \nThe recital will be followed by afternoon tea.
