The Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group’s (GACSG) next coffee morning at the Chilton Catholic Club will be held on Wednesday 19 February from 10am until 12 noon, writes Marianne Short.
We welcome everyone from the surrounding area to come along and enjoy a cuppa and cakes, and to find out how the charity have been supporting cancer patients across the local area.
GACSG, as a local charity, supports anybody within Newton Aycliffe and surrounding towns and villages who have been affected by cancer.
The charity has two shops open during the week: one in Newton Aycliffe town centre opposite Savers and the other in Darlington, opposite the entrance to the Cornmill Centre.
Services provided by the charity include:
Providing information on issues affecting cancer patients.
Patient transport.
Influencing cancer services in the future.
Regular social activities, with others affected by cancer.
Assistance with benefits claims.
Day trips, social events, meals out.
Confidential and emotional support in a safe and friendly environment.
